JW Coffee Club Coffee of The Month:
November 2020 – Veterans Blend Coffee – in Support of the Poppy Appeal
We are supporting military veterans again this year with a medium to light roast special Veteran’s Blend. It is available from the 1st November, and 10% of all sales of the blend will be donated to the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal.
Peter Johnston, Director here at John Watt & Son, said: “The business has served the families of military personnel throughout its 150 year history – through the Boer War, two world wars and more recent conflicts like the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan. Our service men and women have given, and continue to give, so much for their country and we owe every single one of them a great debt of gratitude. The Royal British Legion is a fantastic organisation and one we’re delighted to support.”
Helping the Poppy Appeal annually is especially relevant for the business as Mr Johnston’s uncle, John Graham, served in the Royal Navy. “My uncle left Penrith in 1947 to join the Navy as a Boy Seaman and he rose through the ranks retiring as a Lieutenant Commander having been awarded an OBE for services to the Royal Navy,” said Mr Johnston.
“As well as helping ex-service men and women across the country our ‘Veterans Blend’ is a nice way for me and my family to remember John, in his memory.”
With its fruity, chocolate flavour and well-rounded medium body this ‘Veterans Blend’ will be a blend of coffee for all coffee lovers to enjoy as well as help a great cause.
Peter Johnston –
I am really enjoying the variety of coffee you send out and finding the new
packaging good; easy to open and reseal.
Angie Wyman –
We love sampling the different tasting nuances of the different varieties.
