This Lapsang Souchong tea originates from the lower hills of the Wuyi Mountain range of Fujian Province in Eastern China.
This tea grows in soil which naturally gives the leaf a light tarry character, which is enhanced further by firing the tea over wood chippings. This tea has a very black neat leaf and wonderfully smooth smokey character. Works extremely well as an accompaniment to chocolate cake.
Brew with freshly drawn boiled water for 3-5 minutes. Experiment with it on its own or with any variation using milk, honey and/or lemon.
